A Letter from a Former Editor

New Beginnings for The Monitor

Reading Time: 1 minute

My time of being Editor-in-Chief has come to an end and I could not be happier with the progress The Monitor has made in these last two years. Being one of the first Freshman/Sophomore’s to be given this opportunity meant the world to me, and I was so happy to have found comfort in an activity I have been involved in since my sophomore year of high school.

I have learned a lot about not only journalism, but leadership as well, and I am so grateful for the lessons I have been taught by staff members, advisors, and the school population. I will still be a part of the publication, but will be focusing on Layout and Design which has been my passion for years to come.

I have decided to choose Gabrielle Fiorella as the next Editor-in-Chief of The Monitor, as she has shown impeccable drive, talent, and interest in The Monitor since joining last year. She will be following in my footsteps as a Freshman turned Sophomore/Editor and I am excited to watch her take on The Monitor and see what she can do.

As far as other editors, we have Meg Masseron, rising senior and devoted Monitor member for the past couple of years, as our new Features Editor. We then have Seamus Fallon, impeccable writer and copy editor, as our new Head Copy Editor. For our Print Managing Editor, we have the brilliant Averee Nelson who worked hard as the Layout and Design editor last year. And finally, continuing her beautiful work, we have Imani Rivera as our Social Media Editor.

I cannot wait to see what the next Editorial Board does with their time, and I am excited to devote myself solely to design, my senior research study, and my capstone.

With Love,

Megan Arnold
