Do you have clothes in your closet you’re looking to get rid of? Do you have a love for thrifting? Are you looking for ways to contribute to sustaining our environment? This event might be just the thing for you!
Sustain MMC will be hosting their annual clothing swap event on both April 18th and April 25th from 11 am to 7 pm on the terrace. At the clothing swap, students will have the opportunity to bring clothing, shoes, and accessories that they don’t want anymore, and swap 1:1 for items that other students have brought. All leftover items will be donated to the NYC Fair Trade Coalition.
The Vice President of Sustain MMC, Abigail Spirit, says “This is an important annual event that we host to support a spring cleaning of your closet, without the waste. 92 million tons of textile waste is produced each year, so buying less clothing is equally as important as properly disposing of your clothing. Often we are just sick of what we currently have, and this event allows us to bring in new items without harming the planet!”
This event will happen rain or shine as it will be moved indoors if needed. Additional updates will be posted on Sustain MMC’s Instagram story @sustainmmc!
