Wellness Wednesday: Taking time for yourself

Reading Time: < 1 minute

College is stressful, we all know this. Essays, internships, jobs, career searching, and just classes in general. These are only a small fraction of what we students have to go through and there are many other things that students go through that pack on a workload to overwhelm us. The quote “Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn,” is important for us to remember because our lives are all at a fast pace right now, but we have to slow down at times and see the bigger picture. Taking care of ourselves is essential for our well being and our happiness.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

If you’ve been studying for a few hours, take a break. If you’ve been cooped up in your dorm or apartment for hours, take some time for yourself or get a couple of friends together and take in what NYC has to offer! If you’re stressed, like we all are 99.9% of the time, slow down and realize that everything is going to be alright. The paper you’re writing? You’ll finish it on time and it’ll be great. The interview you’re preparing for? Relax. You’ve been rehearsing what you’re going to say for many days now. You’ve got this.

Our lives are so fast paced and it always feels like everything is coming at us at once. We just have to remember that we can’t let our lives pass us by over stress, being overwhelmed, or fear. Take some time to realize that life will find a way to turn how it’s supposed to. Trust in yourself and what you’re capable of.
