What would you do if your child or a different loved one was in danger? What lengths would you go to to save them? When does the end justify the means? When is it right to do the wrong thing?

Breaking Glass Pictures’ new crime-thriller film, Intersection, brings up these age-old questions. Following Jake Galloway, a rich, and very corrupt extortionist, played by Matt Doran, the film takes us through the stirring theme of would you risk it all for someone you love? Jake’s son, Josh, is kidnapped by an anonymous figure, prompting them to call Jake throughout the night for him to complete a series of daunting tests. The ultimatum brought up is either completing the series of tests, or Josh will die. The various tests challenge Jake’s morals and personality, making him question himself, and what kind of a man he has truly been. A horrible person, husband, and more importantly, a father is what it all comes down to for him and what the anonymous kidnapper wanted him to realize all along.

Can life or death situations truly make someone change and reevaluate their life? You’ll just have to watch and find out. Like any thriller movie, it has its plot twists, and I had my suspicions of who the kidnapper was, but I was wrong and the shock value was real. Intersection will make you think in depth about how people feel in these real-life situations and the glimpse into Jake’s mind was quite spine-tingling. Making this a hyper-modern film, text messages and streaming video calls are depicted on the screen, showcasing the power and importance of new media.
