This week’s cards are the light Hierophant and the dark Fool. The deck being used this week is not a traditional tarot deck, it is called the Twined Oracle Deck. This means that this deck is made up of two of each major arcana and the cards each have one dark and one light twin. This special feature is on full display with this week’s readings having one light card and one dark.  

The first card for this week, the Light Hierophant, represents something to learn from this week. The Hierophant is depicted in this card as a wise religious figure, but it can represent any institution. The light side of this card suggests a feeling of safety and contentment in your loyalty to the traditions and customs that are a part of this institution. This card also represents mentorship that supports independent thinking plus a dash of healthy rebellion.  

The second card, the Dark Fool, represents advice to take into consideration for this week. The fool is a young and naive prankster who likes to try new jokes to get smiles from others. The Dark Fool is thoughtless and acts without considering the outcome, leading the prank to be offensive or just a plain mess. This card suggests taking your time to consider all options, to appreciate advice given to you even if it was not asked for and to not rush into any decisions without a plan.  

One reading of these cards based on the educational setting for this week is that you will have become comfortable in your school routine, even finding comfort and loyalty among some favored places or people. It also warns to listen to professors’ advice and teachings, take what you need from them and question what you don’t understand. We may be starting the fifth week of school with projects in many classes well under way, but this warns that you should consider all 3 angles of the prompt and not run into the projects without a clear plan.
