Northeastern University released the course bulletin for Fall 2026, offering a list of classes provided at their multiple campuses – including New York, without disclosing it with Marymount Manhattan College’s faculty and students. Even though New York isn’t mentioned among the catalog of campuses at the course bulletin index, several classes amid the 400+ are listed to be offered at the 71st campus this fall semester.
Harley Vaughn, 21, is a junior at MMC, majoring in Dance with a concentration in Choreography and Digital Journalism. She was informed by the Chair and Producing Director of Dance at MMC, Melanie George about what courses she would likely take in the fall semester according to the crosswalk sheet. “I have not yet received a full list of what classes will be offered,” added Vaughn. Students will not be registering by themselves for the next academic year.
According to the released course bulletin by NU, over 80 theatre classes, two in tap dance, five in journalism and a substantial number of other classes are being offered at the New York campus this fall semester. Some classes such as General Chemistry for Engineers (CRN: 23542) were mentioned along with the location and timings of the classes, while the others were listed with only timings and dates. None of the classes offered at the New York campuses had the name of the instructors specified on the course bulletin
From the paucity of information available, several faculty members also confirmed that they are still unaware of which classes they will be teaching this fall semester. Noelle Griffis, the Associate Professor & Assistant Division Chair of Communication and Media Arts said, “I have not received any information about my fall teaching schedule yet.”
During the official MMC-NU advisement meeting two weeks ago, MMC students were informed that they will be automatically registered for classes by the faculty and provided with a crosswalk worksheet consisting of classes they need to take to complete their credits following the merger. The information regarding the release of the course bulletin for the next academic year has been kept undisclosed from MMC’s faculty and students.
The Monitor requested comment from academic advisement, but didn’t receive further communication.
Update as of May 1: Marymount Manhattan College officials have issued the following statement regarding the NU course bulletin: “The posting of NYC classes was done in error. Those classes have since been removed as MMC works with NU to finalize the NYC fall schedule. We expect the fall schedule to be posted soon, and we very much appreciate students’ eagerness to see the schedule.”
