Jane Amidon, Professor and Sr. Vice Provost for Network Academics at Northeastern University, and Kathleen LeBesco, Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Professor of Communication and Media Arts, are answering questions about the NU-MMC merger throughout the day in the commons on Marymount Manhattan’s campus.
With merger delays due to the government shutdown, there is plenty of uncertainty of the school’s future. Professor Amidon and Mrs. LeBesco hope this provides an opportunity for students to express their concerns and get some clarity. The two stated that their hope is that the merger be approved for the fall 2026 semester. Still, no date is confirmed as Northeastern and Marymount Manhattan await DOE approval.
Overall, students are encouraged to ask about their questions and concerns at the table today. Please follow along at The Monitor to get more updates about today’s event and continuing information about the merger.
